Rashmika Mandanna teams up with this star for the first time

Actor Rashmika Mandanna has been roped in for Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan's next movie. An official confirmation on the same, however, is awaited.

According to reports, the project, temporarily titled SK24, will be written and directed by Cibi Chakaravarthi and bankrolled by Passion Studios. We don't have much information about the project at the moment.

The upcoming movie will mark Rashmika's first onscreen collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan. Rashmika is basking in the back-to-back success of her movies. She was previously seen in Animal. Written and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film starred Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. The film was released in cinemas last year and emerged as one of the highest-grossing Hindi movies of all time.

However, it also sparked a massive debate about the movie promoting problematic ideas about gender roles. Nonetheless, it earned a whopping Rs 900-plus crore just in ticket sales and was also a big hit on streaming platforms. Rashmika is also part of the sequel, which has been titled Animal Park.

She is now waiting for the release of Pushpa 2: The Rule. Starring Telugu superstar Allu Arjun, this is one of the most-awaited movies of 2024. Written and directed by Sukumar, the film will hit the screens worldwide on August 15.

On the other hand, SK24 marks Sivakarthikeyan's second collaboration with director Cibi. Earlier, the actor-director duo delivered a blockbuster comedy movie named Don in 2022. Don is the biggest-ever hit in Sivakarthikeyan's career with a gross of more than Rs 100 crore.

Sivakarthikeyan is waiting for the release of Amaran. Inspired by the life of a slain Indian soldier, the film is expected to redefine the onscreen image of Sivakarthikeyan as an action hero. While Rajkumar Periasamy has written and directed it, Kamal Haasan has produced it under the Raaj Kamal Films International banner.
