Shah Rukh Khan to revive Sanjay Leela Bhansali's shelved project Inshallah? Here's what we know

There might be some good news lurking for the fans of superstar Shah Rukh Khan. While 2023 was truly the year for the actor, there is an exciting development regarding his next project. If reports are to be believed, he might collaborate with his Devdas director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and headline the shelved movie Inshallah.

Yes, you heard that right! Remember the ambitious project that was announced with Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt in the lead? However, sadly it could not see the light of the day. While Salman had opted out of the movie, Sanjay later made the blockbuster Gangubai Kathiawadi with Alia. Now, according to a news report in Pinkvilla, SLB is in talks with Shah Rukh to revive Inshallah again.

The report states that the veteran filmmaker has many projects lined up for which he will begin shooting in May or June this year. One of them is Inshallah for which the director has approached SRK. A source close to the development said, “Inshallah is a step in a new direction for Sanjay Leela Bhansali in today's time and even he is in the mindset to explore a rather light-hearted romantic comedy, stepping back from the intense period dramas. SLB has met SRK a couple of times over the last few months. It's a story and character which suits Shah Rukh Khan's personality and he is in conversations to get him on board."

Well, if things go on the positive lane and Shah Rukh does come on board for the movie, it will truly be joyous news for his fans. Apart from this, Bhansali has the Netflix series Heeramandi in the pipeline. He also has the movie Baiju Bawra which reportedly stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh will also be seen sharing screen space with his daughter Suhana Khan in Sujoy Ghosh’s next.
