Siddhant Chaturvedi once queued up to audition for a sequel to Shah Rukh Khan's Josh; here's what happened next

Actor Siddhant Chaturvedi left a lasting impact with his Bollywood debut in Gully Boy as MC Sher. While his blockbuster arrival in the Zoya Akhtar film led him to new heights, the actor has faced his own phase of struggle before he could justify leaving his CA job for acting.

The Gehraiyaan actor got talking about landing at a fake audition for Josh 2 once during a chat with Cyrus Broacha on YouTube. The actor said he once stood in a long queue to land a part in the ‘Eagle Gang’ which was led by Shah Rukh Khan in the 2000 original.

Narrating the incident from four years ago of how he discovered it was a fake audition as there was no Josh 2 being made he told the host, “I have auditioned for Josh 2, for Eagle gang. There were so many guys standing in a queue and I asked them what’s going on, they said Josh 2 auditions are going on. Then I stood in that line for the whole day but my turn did not come.”

He further went on to reveal, “The next day I went, I was the first one to go there and there was nobody, it was shut. I asked what time will the auditions start, the people who were there told me that there was a fake audition here yesterday. Josh 2 is not being made.”

Well, as fate would have it Siddhant was eventually discovered by filmmaker Zoya Akhtar at a party for his web series Inside Edge and cast him to play MC Sher in the Ranveer Singh led Gully Boy which arrived in cinemas in 2018. Siddhant despite being in a supporting role was love by fans.

With his latest outing Gehraiyaan which also stars Deepika Padukone , Ananya Panday , and Dhairya Karwa , Siddhant has managed to prove his versatility which hopefully continues with his upcoming projects like Yudhra and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan.
