Sona Mohapatra defends Aamir Khan's daughter Ira against netizens trolling her birthday attire, says 'she is an adult woman'

Singer Sona Mohapatra has come to Aamir Khan ’s daughter Ira Khan’s defense after the latter was being trolled by some netizens for her birthday attire. For the unversed, Ira opted for a bikini attire for her pool party on the occasion of her birthday on Monday (May 9). While many users started criticizing her for wearing the same in front of her father, Sona took to her social media handle to pen a strong post to support Ira.

The singer tweeted stating, “All the people outraging about Ira Khan’s choice of attire or linking it to what #AamirKhan said, did or didn’t in the past please note; she is 25. A free, thinking, adult woman. Is exercising her choices. Doesn’t need her dad’s approval or yours. BUZZ off. #Patriachy #India.” Take a look at her tweet.

Talking about the same, Ira Khan took to her social media handle to share some delightful pictures from her birthday celebration. She can be seen cutting her birthday cake in the presence of her parents Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta . She could also be seen posing with beau Nupur Shikhare in many of the pictures. Aamir Khan’s former second wife Kiran Rao had also joined Ira’s birthday celebration along with her son Azad Rao Khan . Apart from this, Ira posed with all her close friends and by the looks of it, her birthday seemed like a fun-filled affair.

Sona Mohapatra also joined Ira Khan’s birthday celebration. The ‘Ambarsariya’ singer shared a video wherein she can be seen getting goofy with the birthday girl. While some netizens wished Ira on her special day, other nasty trolls were quick to criticize her and drag her father Aamir Khan’s previous comments.

Talking about Ira Khan, the star kid has reportedly revealed that she has no plans to pursue acting. She instead made her directorial debut with the play Medea in 2019. It starred actress and cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s wife Hazel Keech.
