The Immortal Ashwatthama: Sara Ali Khan out, Samantha Ruth Prabhu in for the mega budget Vicky Kaushal superhero film?

Aditya Dhar 's next big venture The Immortal Ashwatthama after facing a few roadblocks seems to finally be back on track. The movie which is being led by the director's good friend and actor Vicky Kaushal also seems to have undergone a change in the casting of the female lead.

Where earlier Sara Ali Khan was reported to be finalised for the part, Telugu actress Samantha Ruth Prabu is making headway into Bollywood is now said to be in talks for the part with the makers. After the massive success of The Family Man season 2, Samantha now has plans to foray into Hindi films and after already having bagged Taapsee Pannu 's next project as a producer, the actress has been approached for The Immortal Ashwatthama according to Pinkvilla.

The Immortal Ashwatthama was put on hold in August last year due to budgeting issues as the project has been envisioned on a grand scale by director Aditya Dhar. Now, it seems to finally be coming off the shelf with the filmmaker reportedly busy fine tuning the script at the moment and has got all budgetary approvals from the studio backing the project.

If all goes well, Samantha and Vicky might begin shooting for the three part superhero film in 2023 after the actor is done shooting for the Sam Manekshaw biopic.

It is still unclear why Sara Ali Khan will not be a part of the reinstated project but her loss could definitely be a big gain for Samantha. Sara, however, has Laxman Utekar's next with Vicky in the pipeline which they have already wrapped up shoot for.
