Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan has been making waves even before her debut with The Archies. As the star kid is currently on the promotional spree for her upcoming musical drama, she won hearts for talking about sustainable fashion citing Alia Bhatt's recent move of repeating her wedding saree at the National Award event. However, her reaction didn’t go down well with a section of people on social media.

In the viral video, Suhana said, “Recently, Alia wore her wedding saree again for the National Awards and I think as somebody with a platform, who has an influence, I thought that was incredible and a much-needed message. And if Alia Bhatt can re-wear her wedding saree, then we can also repeat an outfit for a party. We don't realise that making new garments creates waste which impacts our biodiversity and environment. So, it's very important."

Soon after, a user wrote, “Breaking: Suhana Khan discovers that Alia Bhatt has a washing machine!” The second user commented, “Wore her wedding saree for an award function! What a sacrifice!!” The third user reacted, “Millions of women in India have only a single saree for years and here she is talking of sustainability, and what’s more ironic is people are listening as if she is an Nobel laureate, well can’t blame people really, the media which highlights these are really really genius, but for them too it’s a matter of bread and butter too.”

Suhana is all set to make her Bollywood debut alongside Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda in The Archies. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the film is set in 1960s India and revolves around Archie and the gang navigating romance, friendship, and the threat to a beloved park from developers. The film also stars Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina, Yuvraj Menda and Dot. The film is set to stream on Netflix on December 7, 2023.
