On the film’s 20th anniversary, superstar Allu Arjun took to social media to express his gratitude to his beloved fans for showering him with love.  

    The Pushpa actor took to his Instagram stories to share a special post, expressing gratitude. Sharing the film’s poster, Allu Arjun wrote, “20 Years of Arya Gratitude Forever (sic).” 

    Arya was helmed by acclaimed director Sukumar, who made his directorial debut with this Allu Arjun-starrer. Apart from Allu Arjun's performance, Arya was widely celebrated for his pairing with co-star Anu Mehta. Devi Sri Prasad’s superhit compositions for the film, coupled with Allu Arjun’s fascinating dance moves, are still popular among fans. 

    The movie achieved remarkable success upon its release and continues to receive an overwhelming response from fans, across the country even years later. The movie achieved cult status among audiences and became a turning point in the careers of Allu Arjun and director Sukumar.

    Allu Arjun and Sukumar’s blockbuster collaborations post Arya

    Post the success of Arya, the actor-director duo Allu Arjun and Sukumar collaborated again for the sequel of the blockbuster film, titled Arya 2. This romantic drama starring Navdeep, Allu Arjun, and Kajal Aggarwal was the perfect film with the enemies-to-lovers trope. Twelve years later, the actor and director worked together on the 2021 blockbuster hit film Pushpa, which earned Allu Arjun his first National Award for Best Actor. The director-actor duo are now gearing up for the release of Pushpa 2: The Rule. The film, helmed by Sukumar, also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, and will hit the big screens on August 15, 2024.
