Akshay Kumar on Prithviraj narration: “Had goosebumps throughout”

    The upcoming film celebrates the valour of India’s bravest warrior king, Prithviraj Chauhan, and the epic war he fought against the invader Muhammad of Ghori.

    After donning the villainous role in Bachchan Pandey, actor Akshay Kumar is all set to entertain the audience as a warrior king in his upcoming period drama, Prithviraj . The makers of the film have scheduled to unveil the trailer of the much-awaited film today.

    Ahead of the trailer release, Akshay revealed how he had goosebumps throughout the narration of the films. The actor said he immediately signed up for it because he was blown away by its script. “It brings together history, patriotism, the portrayal of the values that we should live by, and also tells a story of love that is rare to find,” said the actor adding that director Chandraprakash Dwivedi is the right person to do justice to the film.

    Elaborating further on the upcoming historical drama, Akshay said, “The film has a huge scale that a historical like this deserves. It is an honour to portray someone who has done so much for the India that we know.”

    The upcoming film celebrates the valour of India’s bravest warrior king, Prithviraj Chauhan, and the epic war he fought against the invader Muhammad of Ghori. The film marks the Bollywood debut of former Miss Universe Manushi Chhillar as she plays princess Sanyogita. The film also has Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood in pivotal roles.

    Earlier in November last year, Akshay unveiled the teaser introducing himself as Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. "A heroic story about pride and valour. Proud to play Samrat #Prithviraj Chauhan.     Talking about the film, Dwivedi earlier said, "Prithviraj is also based mainly on medieval literature, an epic called Prithviraj Raso by the great poet Chand Bardai. Apart from a couple of versions of Raso, there are many other literary works on Prithviraj, his life, and times. In addition to these, there are commentaries on Raso."
