Ameesha Patel gets candid about Sunny Deol co-starrer Gadar 2; says ‘Tara and Sakina are back’

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar: Ek Prem Katha is undoubtedly one of the most unique and loved romantic dramas ever made in Bollywood. It followed the beautiful story of a truck driver named Tara, a Sikh, who gets married to a Muslim girl named Sakina during the partition of India. While the story impressed audiences, Ameesha and Sunny’s chemistry won hearts. Well, after 20 long years, the actors announced that they will be reuniting on-screen in the sequel of the film, titled Gadar 2 : The Katha Continues.

Gadar 2: Sunny Deol starrer to see a 24-year leap; Tara Singh will travel to Pakistan to save his son 

On the occasion of Dusshera last year, the team unveiled the first motion poster of the film. Well, in a recent chat with ETimes, Ameesha opened up about the project and explained that the story will be in continuation of part 1. The actress revealed, “Tara and Sakina, the iconic characters of Gadar are back. Its a take off from where we left the original story. If Gadar was the story till the proverbial interval then Gadar 2 is what happens post interval.”

Ameesha was further quoted saying, “It’s a continuation of the story and it's got all the emotions, music, high drama and comedy, too. I just hope the audiences give us as much love and appreciation as they had with Gadar.” While Sunny and Ameesha will step back into the shoes of Tara and Sakina, Utkarsh Sharma who is all grown up will reprise the role of their on-screen son Jeete. Makers will reportedly take a 24 year leap this time.
