The combo of Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga created a thunderstorm at the box office and how! Animal is now nearing the Rs 800 crore mark in the gross total collections. However, the movie slowed down drastically on its 14th day. So much so that it minted its first-ever single-digit collection on Thursday (December 14).

Talking about the same, Animal saw its lowest earnings on Thursday. According to a news report in Sacnilk, the Ranbir Kapoor film minted Rs 8.75 crore on its 14th day. The total collections of the movie now stand at Rs 476.84 crore. The gross total collection of the movie globally is Rs 772 crore.

Animal’s total occupancy on Thursday was 14.75 percent across its Hindi shows. The occupancy rates in the different cities included Chennai (21.50 percent), Pune (19.25 percent), Jaipur (17.75 percent), National Capital Region or NCR (17.25 percent), Lucknow (16.50 percent), Mumbai (15 percent) and Hyderabad (15 percent). The movie is fast entering the Rs 800 crore milestone when it comes to the global box office. It will be interesting to see whether it manages to scale upwards in terms of the collections before it faces tough competition from the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki.

Despite polarizing views from the masses, it seems Animal is striking a chord with its intense plot and powerful performances. Even the songs of the movie have become chartbusters. The movie also stars Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and Tripti Dimri in the lead roles.

Desimartini’s review for Animal read, “Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s latest offering Animal is not for the faint-hearted. If you thought Kabir Singh/Arjun Reddy was violent and problematic, Animal is both these films combined and raised to the power of 10 (if not more). The film begins with a promising first half. Despite some erratic jump cuts and continuity issues which tend to confuse you, the scenes, and the way they play out, manage to hold your attention, primarily because of the stellar act and towering presence of Ranbir Kapoor.”
