Bollywood is back with a BANG: Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan opens at an earth-shattering Rs 50 crore

We can safely say that Bollywood has been resurrected officially and Shah Rukh Khan ’s superstardom has a huge role to play in the same. The day is finally here when Shah Rukh’s Pathaan has been released into the theatres and now the verdict is out. We aren’t surprised that the predictions of the trade experts and the fans have come true and the spy flick has managed to mint Rs 50 crore at the box office.

Not only this but Pathaan has also created history by becoming the biggest non-holiday opening on January 25, 2022 (Wednesday). Earlier trade analyst Komal Nahta had stated that the film’s total collections from PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis had managed to garner Rs 22 crore till 4:30 pm. He had then predicted whether the film is smoothly sailing towards a Rs 50 crore opening and seems like it has indeed happened. The tweet said, “‘Pathaan’ net total on day 1 from only PVR, Inox and Cinepolis till 4.30 p.m. is a whopping Rs. 22 crore!!!! Headed for a 50-crore opening?” Take a look at the tweet.

The Shah Rukh Khan starrer has managed to beat Prabhas’ Baahubali 2 with this humongous achievement. Hrithik Roshan’s War which is also a part of the YRF spy universe had minted Rs 53.35 crore on its first day while Yash’s KGF 2 earned Rs 53.95 crore on its first day. However, these both films had the advantage of an opening on holidays. Now, we will not be surprised if the movie manages to surpass the Rs 100 crore mark like a cakewalk within just 2 days since today (January 26) marks a national holiday.

This has also silenced all the naysayers of Shah Rukh Khan proving that the megastar is here to stay. The movie has been helmed by Siddharth Anand. It also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in the lead roles.
