Brahmastra: After Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone to do a cameo role in Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer fantasy drama?

Ever since the news of Shah Rukh Khan having a cameo appearance in Ayan Mukerji ’s Brahmastra surfaced, thrilled fans have been guessing his role in the recently released trailer of the film. Now, there are new reports suggesting that like SRK, actress Deepika Padukone is also set to feature in a cameo role in Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer film.

The Gehraiyaan actress will be seen sharing screen space with Ranbir as reported by Bollywood Hungama . The two were last featured together in Imtiaz Ali ’s 2015 film Tamasha . They were also seen in Ayan’s last directorial Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani in 2013. However, no official statement confirming the actress joining the cast of Brahmastra has been yet made by the makers of the film.

The reports also revealed that SRK’s part in the fantasy romantic drama is powerful and comes at a crucial point for a brief time. SRK earlier made a small appearance in a scene with Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Karan Johar ’s directorial Ae Dil Hai Mushkil .

Written and directed by Ayan, Brahmastra revolves around a young man named Shiva played by Ranbir who discovers that he is destined to link with the fiery world of Astraverse, Brahmastra. As ‘Agni Astra’ he embarks on a journey to save the world from dark forces. The film also features Alia Bhatt as Isha, Amitabh Bachchan as Guru, Nagarjuna as Anish, and Mouni Roy as the villain. Laced with stunning VFX effects, the film is mounted on a huge budget of Rs 300 crore.

The film is jointly produced by Ranbir Kapoor, Ayan Mukerji, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions , Star Studios , and Double Negative. It will have a pan-India release in five languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam on September 9.
