    Ever since Brahmastra was released, fans have been curious about the role of Dev and Amrita. In the Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy drama. While Deepika Padukone was revealed as Amrita during a sequence, there have been several speculations that Hrithik Roshan or Kannada actor Yash would be seen in Dev’s role. As per the latest report, Ranveer Singh has been confirmed for the much-anticipated character in Brahmastra 2.

    For the unversed, Brahmastra stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles of Shiva and Isha respectively. Besides them, the film also has megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. Shah Rukh Khan also featured in a special role in the film. If reports are to be believed, it would be interesting to see Ranbir-Alia and Deepika-Ranveer share screen space for the first time in the upcoming second instalment of Brahmastra.

    A source close to News18 said, “Ranveer Singh has been finalised to play the role of Dev. He has signed the dotted line. The scripting for the second part is still in progress and the film is expected to roll in 2025. Currently, Ayan is busy with War 2 and Ranveer will also begin shooting for Baiju Bawra this year. So, when Brahmastra 2 will go on floors is still unclear.” The source further added that Ranveer will shoot for Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 first and then Brahmastra 2.

    Meanwhile, Brahmastra emerged to be one of the highest grossers of 2022. Regarding Brahmastra 2, Ranbir Kapoor had earlier revealed that the film's script is complete and filming will begin by the end of 2024 or early 2025. Meanwhile, he is currently basking in the success of Animal, which has crossed Rs 300 crore at the box office in its first week of release.
