    The coming month of April is full-packed with some of the most awaited releases of Bollywood. Some of the great films were lined up for a big-bang release last year but were delayed due to the pandemic or stuck with the production work. From John Abraham’s Attack to Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti 2, the cine-goers have been holding their breath for quite some time. Now, the wait for these anticipated films is over as they are all set to hit the screens and digital platforms the next month.

    Here is the list of movies that got delayed for one or other reasons and are slated to release in April.

    Amidst the resurgence of Covid-19 cases in form of the third wave in the country, the theatrical releases of many films have been pushed. At that time, the makers had either rescheduled the release date or released it on the OTT platform. It all began with Shahid Kapoor -starrer Jersey. The Gowtam Tinnanuri directorial was supposed to be released in theatres on August 28, 2020. Owing to the Covid pandemic, the production work was halted, it was rescheduled for December 31, 2021 release. It was later postponed indefinitely due to the spread of the Covid new variant. Finally, after a long wait, the film is now coming to theatres on April 14, 2022. The film is the sequel of the Telugu film with the same title that was released in 2019. The movie also stars Mrunal Thakur in a pivotal role.

    Attack

    The action drama starring John Abraham and Rakul Preet was originally scheduled to release on August 14, 2020. It was rescheduled to release on January 28, 2022, due to the shooting suspension. The makers then had to again push the dates owing to a sudden surge in Covid 19 cases at that point in time. Now, the action thriller is set for theatrical release on April 1, 2022. Helmed by Lakshya Raj Anand, the movie revolves around an army veteran who decides to volunteer for an experiment by the government that ends up him becoming a super-soldier to fight against terrorism. The film also has Jacqueline Fernandez in a key role.

    KGF : Chapter 2

    Yash -starrer period drama was earlier supposed to be released theatrically in July but was pushed to a later date due to the coronavirus pandemic. The upcoming sequel to the 2018 film K.G.F: Chapter 1, will now release theatrically on April 14, 2022. Directed by Prashanth Neel, and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon in pivotal roles. The high-budget film will release in multiple languages including Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil.

    Heropanti 2

    Just like other movies, the Tiger Shroff-starrer also faced Covid pandemic-related delays. The makers were earlier planned to shoot the film in 9 countries, however, owing to covid-related restrictions, they could not complete their shooting on time. Hence, the release date was changed from December 3, 2021, to May 6, 2022. Later, the makers shifted its release date considering its clash with the Hollywood biggie Thor: Love and Thunder at the box office. Now, Heropanti 2 is releasing on EID, i.e, April 29, 2022.

    Runway 34

    Ajay Devgn starrer Runway 34 was also delayed due to the third wave of the pandemic. The makers had to finally lock April 29, 2022, for its release after several production work delays. Inspired by true events, the film will also see the legendary Amitabh Bachchan in an important role. Produced by Ajay Devgn under his banner Ajay Devgn Ffilms, the film is said to be inspired by the August 18, 2015 incident in which flight 9W 555 of Jet Airways flying from Doha to Kochi escaped narrowly from a possible casualty. In the film, Ajay Devgn is reuniting with Rakulpreet Singh after De De Pyaar De.
