Gehraiyaan: Deepika trolls Ananya; Shakun Batra calls latter ‘unprofessional’ for laughing during intense scene

Deepika Padukone , Ananya Panday , Siddhant Chaturvedi and Dhairya Karwa ’s upcoming film Gehraiyaan is undoubtedly one of the most awaited films of Bollywood. Helmed by ace filmmaker Shakun Batra , it follows an intriguing story of two couples, their vastly different relationships and the concept of infidelity. While the film has an intense theme, the team had a gala time working together. Well, recently in an interview with Hindustan Times, the actors and their director answered some fun questions about their on-set experience. During this interaction, when they were asked who used their phone in between shots, Shakun and Deepika named Ananya.

Gehraiyaan: Ananya Panday opens up on working with Deepika; clarifies that the film is not glorifying infidelity 

The Student of the Year 2 actress tried to defend herself by saying that she also works on her phone. But she was trolled by Deepika who joked that Ananya is the Prime Minister and is running the world. Shakun also chimed in to add that Instagram is working only because of her. When asked who is most likely to laugh and ruin an intense scene during shoot, once again fingers were pointed at Ananya. To share an example, Shakun remembered the time they were filming the last scene of the film on the final day of shoot. Ananya was laughing in the shot which was of a serious scene, and when Shakun told her that he saw her laughing in the wide shot, the actress replied that it was for the take.

Shakun told her that she couldn’t be laughing for the take because it was a serious scene. He remembered, “And then she's trying to justify that 'No, no I was acting' and I was like 'Don't lie'. Because she's just not laughing in the take but repeatedly laughing looking at the crew. So that was going on, very unprofessional.” Ananya promised that it happened only that one time!

Well, the team’s delightful off-screen camaraderie has definitely raised our expectations from Gehraiyaan. We can’t wait to watch the domestic noir when it arrives on Amazon Prime Video next week!
