Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer Adipurush has become the most talked about movie ever since the makers have released its teaser. Helmed by Om Raut, the upcoming movie is based on the Hindu epic Ramayan, which features Prabhas as Raghava, Saif Ali Khan as antagonist Lankesh and Kriti as Janaki. The two-minute-long teaser was massively criticized by many to have a ‘cartoonish’ VFX, and makers were trolled for using bad graphics.

As per the latest development, Adipurush is set to have its world premiere at the prestigious 2023 edition of the Tribeca Film Festival, and the netizens are concerned. While one user wrote, “This is shocking ...but absolutely special for the whole team of #Adipurush ...the final product should be excellent if you want its premiere at a prestigious #TribecaFilmFestival #Prabhas @kritisanon #SaifAliKhan.” Another user trolled saying “Sharam bhi nhi aati hai ..itni below average VFX ke sath Ramayan ko pesh karoge. (No shame at all, going to showcase Ramayan with below average VFX).” “Why do you guys want to show this horribly low-tech and badly made film to an advanced audience.” added another. “Hoping VFX pehle se sahi huye honge” read one of the comments. For the unversed, Om Raut had earlier defended his movie at the time of massive trolling saying that it is not made for a smaller screen. “I was disheartened for sure, not surprised because the film is made for a larger medium—the big screen. You can cut it down to some extent but can’t bring it down to a mobile phone. That’s an environment I can’t control. Given a choice, I’d never put it on YouTube but that’s the need of the hour… I was not surprised because it’s not made for a smaller screen. It’s made for a larger screen and I can’t consume it on a smaller screen,” he had said.

Post receiving negative reviews, the makers called for a postponement. However, there have been no major changes made in the film as mentioned by editor Ashish Mhatre after the teaser release in October last year. Meanwhile, the magnum opus Adipurush, which was set to release in January, will now release in 3D on June 16.
