Geroge Miller's prequel to the critically acclaimed Mad Max Fury Road, had officially wrapped production last month. The movie will follow the journey of a young Furiosa played by Anya Taylor-Joy and how she became an Imperator in Immortan Joe's army.

The movie takes place after a young Furiosa is kidnapped from the Green Place by the biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus who has invaded Immortan Joe's territory thus setting the two on an all-out war for domiance.

She is joined by Chris Hemsworth who is rumored to be playing the role of Immortan Joe and Tom Burke who is rumored to be playing the warlord lord Dementus.

Both Nathan Jones and Angus Sampson will be reprising their Fury Road roles as Rictus Erectus and The Organic Mechanic respectively.

In a recent interview Anya Taylor-Joy spoke about just how bloody and violent the upcmning prequel is compared to the work she had so far

“It’s the dirtiest and the bloodiest I have ever been, which is saying something, genuinely saying something. Any time I get to be dirty or bloody and not perfectly prim and pretty, I’m just having a ball, that’s where I feel most comfortable. So yeah, ‘Furiosa’ was definitely right up my street.”

Considering the fact the actor is no stranger to blood and gore, it will be interesting to see how it plays out because while the movie has more than its fair share of blood and violence in its previous entries it has mostly been vehicular combat.

But considering that director Geroge Miller is trying to tell an origin story of a young and innocent Furiosa and how the challenges she faces during her captivity shape her into the badass we saw in Fury Road, this change makes sense.

Hopefully, fans will get a small peak of what Anya Taylor-Joy spoke about when the trailer eventually drops next year.

The script for Fuiosa is written by Geroge Miller and Nico Lathouris with Simon Duggan as cinematographer and Tom Holkenborgin in charge of the music.

Furiosa is set to hit theaters on May 24, 2024.
