Ranveer Singh starrer social comedy, Jayeshbhai Jordaar is facing a major downfall at the box office. After having a poor opening on its first day, the movie still struggles to pull the audience to theatres. In just five days of release, the film managed to gross only Rs 15 crore.

Directed by debutant Divyang Thakkar , the film was released in cinemas on May 13. Despite, Ranveer’s gripping acting as a sharp-witted Gujarati man, many found the film's plot unpleasing. Moreover, the film’s business is also hit hard by South films KGF : Chapter 2, and Mahesh Babu starrer Sarkaru Vaari Paata. As per reports, Ranveer’s film earned approximately Rs 1.30 crores net in India on Tuesday, May 17.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Jayeshbhai Jordaar is performing well in the overseas market. The film collected a total of $ 675 thousand, i.e Rs 5.24 crores after its first weekend. The movie has been doing well in the UAE, North America, the UK, and Europe.

In the coming days, the movie is expected to face tough competition as Kartik Aaryan ’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Kangana Ranaut starrer Dhaakad, will be hitting the screens. If the film shows no sign of improvement, the makers will have to take off the movie from the theatres.

Produced by Aditya Chopra and Maneesh Sharma under Yash Raj Films , the social comedy stars Ranveer Singh in the titular role, and Shalini Pandey plays the female lead in the film. In a brand new avatar, Ranveer breaks patriarchal norms in order to protect his unborn daughter in the film. Boman Irani , Ratna Pathak Shah, and Deeksha Joshi also feature in supporting roles in the film.
