Jugjugg Jeeyo box office Day 5: Varun Dhawan- Kiara Advani starrer family drama shows no decline, mints Rs 44 crore so far

Ever since Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani ’s JugJugg Jeeyo was released on June 24, it has been entertaining audiences with its comedy and family drama. Directed by Raj A Mehta, the film has managed to rake in Rs 44 crore approximately so far. Going by Tuesday, i.e Day 5 numbers, the film is expected to hold well on the coming weekdays, as it collected between Rs 4 to 4.5 crore similar to its Monday collection.

The family drama opened to a decent number at the box office, earning Rs 9.28 crore. On the second day and the third day, the collection paced up, grossing Rs 12.55 and Rs 15.10 crore respectively. The first-weekend collection grossed Rs 36.93 crore in total. Following Monday, the film’s earnings showed a sharp decline, registering Rs 4.82 crore at the box office. The collection remained steady on Tuesday at around 4.25-4.50 crore nett.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the urban cities of Delhi, and Delhi NCR are driving the business of the family drama. However, the collection declined by 48 percent being a weekday and therefore less occupancy. On the other hand, BoxOfficeIndia.com reports suggest, that “The film still has some work to do but holds like this will do the film no harm and now it is about where the film will land up on the second Friday. The business on Saturday and Sunday will show a good upturn.”

Produced by Karan Johar ’s Dharma Productions , the film talks about the complexities of relationships after marriage. The film also stars Neetu Kapoor , Anil Kapoor , Maniesh Paul, and Prajakta Kohli in pivotal roles. The film is believed to be an urban entertainer as the mass pockets have shown an average response to the film.

In the review of the film, Desimartini wrote, “Jugjugg Jeeyo marries all cliches of a family entertainer with a fresh story which is refreshing in a manner you might not have anticipated. The subject of the movie about two divorces and a wedding is obviously aimed at a metropolitan audience but it is where the magic of good writing steps in and makes Jugjugg Jeeyo an entertainer for everybody.”
