    Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam are all set to collaborate after 37 long years with the ambitious action extravaganza titled Thug Life. The duo’s last film together was the 1987 blockbuster Nayakan. Now, there has been an exciting development surrounding Thug Life’s filming schedule which will leave all the fans super pumped up for the same.

    Talking about the same, according to a news report in OTT Play, the movie is finally ready to go on floors after an extensive pre-production phase for over a year. For the unversed, the movie was officially announced in 2022. The latest development suggests that Ratnam and the Chachi 420 actor will be kickstarting the shooting of the movie in the last week of January 2024. Not only this but the reports also suggest that the team of Thug Life will have a grand launch event for the film in Chennai before the shooting. Fans can expect an announcement regarding this development.

    The film has Haasan playing the lead role of Rangaraya Sakthivel Nayakar. The movie also stars Trisha Krishnan as the female protagonist along with Dulquer Salmaan and Jayam Ravi in important roles. Abhirami and Gautham Karthik star in pivotal roles in the Mani Ratnam directorial. The music will be composed by AR Rahman while the cinematography will be headlined by Ravi K Chandran. The movie will be edited by A Sreekar Prasad. It will be bankrolled by Kamal Haasan along with Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies.

    Earlier in an interaction with Film Companion, actor Sidharth who was also the assistant director for Ratnam shared an interesting update about the movie. The actor said that the blockbuster duo of Haasan and Ratnam have decided to shoot Thug Life in reverse. Well, if this does not increase the excitement regarding the same, we don’t know what else does.
