For the unversed, Vikram is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is a self-confessed Kamal Haasan fan. Lokesh is directing the superstar for the first time. He was first approached by Raaj Kamal Films International, owned by Kamal, to make a movie with a different actor, however, Kamal and Lokesh decided to work together on a movie. Vikram is also the title of Kamal’s1966 espionage thriller, however, the makers have clarified that there is no connection between these two movies.

Besides Kamal, the upcoming film also stars Vijay Sethupati and Fahadh Faasil. The Jai Bheem actor Suriya Sivakumar has also played a cameo in the movie. The storyline is kept under wraps, however, the trailer shows Vijay in the role of a drug kingpin, while Fahad plays a cop who haunts drug dealers. It is not clear what role Kamal is playing in the movie, however, he seems to lead an all-out gang war with guns.

Vikram is said to have a theatrical runtime of 2 hours and 53 minutes and is set to release on June 3. The makers will also have special premiere shows in the US on June 2. The film is set to clash with Adivi Sesh's Major and Akshay Kumar's Prithviraj.
