Karan Johar puts rumors to rest, shares exciting update about Shanaya Kapoor’s debut film Bedhadak

Sanjay Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor began her Bollywood journey a few years ago as the assistant director of cousin Janhvi Kapoor ’s film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl . But it was earlier this year in March that she announced her acting debut. Titled Bedhadak , her first film is reportedly a love triangle co-starring Lakshya and Gurfateh Singh Pirzada . Shanaya had shared, “I am extremely grateful and humbled to join the Dharma Family with #Bedhadak - directed by the brilliant Shashank Khaitan . I can’t wait to kickstart this journey, I need all your blessings and love!❤️💫”

Backed by Dharma Productions , Bedhadak is being helmed by director Shashank Khaitan. After seeing the young star kid in a hair straightener advertisement, fans were eager to see how she does in her first film. However, since the last few days rumors had been doing the rounds suggesting that the project has been shelved. Well, Karan Johar has now waved off these false reports with his social media post. Sharing an update about the film, he revealed, “@shanayakapoor02 @gurfatehpirzada @itslakshya all set to storm the screens next year! Shooting commences first half of next year !!!! #BEDHADAK!!!!”

Not only her family but even her best friends Ananya Panday and Suhana Khan are in the same industry that Shanaya is all set to enter with Bedhadak. While Ananya has emerged as a well-known actress, who is currently gearing up for her first pan-Indian film Liger, Shah Rukh Khan ’s daughter Suhana is all set to make her debut with Zoya Akhtar ’s Netflix film The Archies .
