Kriti Sanon is fast creating an impressive niche for herself in Bollywood. The actress is performing versatile roles onscreen and has delivered some critically-acclaimed and commercially successful movies over the years. According to a news report in Etimes, Kriti Sanon has been offered to play the titular role in the Meena Kumari biopic by T-series. The report further added that the Bareilly Ki Barfi actress has not divulged the details of the same to anyone. The report furthermore stated that Kriti is quite delighted and proud of herself to have grabbed this opportunity.

Talking about Meena Kumari, the yesteryear actress is hailed as one of the most celebrated actresses of Indian cinema of all time. She was hailed as the ‘tragedy queen’ due to her portrayal of tragic and complex characters in her glorious filmography. Some of her best works include Pakeezah, Saheb Biwi Aur Ghulam , Baiju Bawra , Mere Apne , Footh Path, Parineeta , Dil Ek Mandir, and many more.

Meanwhile, talking about Kriti Sanon, she has delivered impressive performances in her past few movies like Mimi, Bachchhan Paandey , and Hum Do Hamare Do. However, Mimi was considered a game-changer in her career as it marked her first female-led movie. In the latest media interaction in Delhi, Kriti had opened up about the same.

The actress had said, “I knew that when I said yes to the film. This film gave me an opportunity to do a lot as an actor. When a film gives you so much, you also give it back with your whole heart. I gained weight for my role, so of course, I couldn’t do any other work while shooting Mimi. In those two months, I couldn’t do anything else in terms of work. Mimi gave me a lot in terms of range. For the first time, I had a whole film on my shoulders. It had a flavour of comedy but there was a lot of intensity as well. As an actor, it was very satisfying to play a role like that. It was a film that opened up something inside me.”
