Back in 2010, filmmaker Kiran Rao made her directorial debut with Dhobi Ghat starring her ex husband and superstar Aamir Khan, Prateik Babbar and Monica Dogra. Over a decade later, she returned to the director’s chair for her upcoming film Laapataa Ladies. Well, ahead of the film’s theatrical release on 1st March, Kiran is busy in a hectic promotional spree with her star cast which consists of newcomers Nitanshi Goel and Pratibha Ranta along with Jamtara actor Sparsh Shrivastava. But like every other Bollywood film, Kiran’s Laapataa Ladies will also take the digital route soon after its arrival on the silver screen.

The film’s OTT release date remains undisclosed. However, a report shared by OTT Play suggests that Laapataa Ladies will arrive on Jio Cinema post its theatrical release. Meanwhile Kiran’s Laapataa Ladies will also have a premiere on 29th February at the prestigious Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. In the trailer we were introduced to Deepak Kumar, played by Sparsh, who brings his newly wedded wife home after tying the knot in a grand wedding. But when she lifts her ghoongat, it is revealed that Deepak lost his wife in the train and brought someone else home. Meanwhile his real wife reaches another train station, unable to remember the name of her husband’s village or her exact home address.

At a special media screening, we got to watch Kiran’s second directorial before its much awaited release. As expected, Laapataa Ladies was a fun ride which consists of romance, lots of drama and even more confusion and intrigue. We can assure you that this film is one to watch out for with incredible performances by Nitanshi, Sparsh and Pratibha along with their spectacular seniors Ravi Kishan and Chhaya Kadam.
