With two Avengers movies, The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars set to hit the big screen in 2025, Marvel fans have a lot to be excited about.

After the movies were announced at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, we learned that Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton will direct The Kang Dynasty.

Which led to many speculations on who will helm Secret Wars, with fan favorite the Russo Brothers dropping out due to their busy schedules.

Well, a new rumor shared by The Weekly Planet Podcast suggests that Avengers: Secret Wars will still end up in the safe hands of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever director Ryan Coogler.

According to the podcast Coogler is in talks with Marvel to helm the final installment in phase 6 of The MCU .

While we still have to wait till we get an official confirmation from the studio, directing Secret Wars would be the next logical step for the director because as well as directing the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, he is also serving as executive producer for the Ironheart series on Disney+.

In the comics, Secret Wars begins with the destruction of The Marvel Universe, with supervillain Doctor Doom remaining a reality in his image.

And since it is rumored that Doctor Doom will make his MCU debut in Black Panther 2, the possibility of setting him up as the main villain of Secret Wars looks to be likely.

As for now, Ryan Coogler is busy with the post-production of Black Panther 2.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit theaters on November 11, 2022.
