Well, it cannot be denied that the volatile ‘Boycott Bollywood’ trend that has been grappling with the Hindi film industry for the past few months now has indeed adversely affected the majority of the releases this year. The biggest examples are Raksha Bandhan and Laal Singh Chaddha which have been performing at the box office in a very underwhelming manner after there was a massive trend to boycott these movies. Now, the latest film that has fallen prey to the trend is none other than Hrithik Roshan ’s Vikram Vedha .

Talking about the same, netizens are now trending ‘Boycott Vikram Vedha’ on Twitter and it all began after Hrithik Roshan praised Aamir Khan ’s Laal Singh Chaddha in his latest tweet. Yes, you heard that right! Hrithik praised the film saying, “Just watched LAAL SINGH CHADDA. I felt the HEART of this movie. Pluses and minuses aside, this movie is just magnificent. Don’t miss this gem guys ! Go ! Go now . Watch it. It’s beautiful. Just beautiful.” Soon trends of boycotting the movie flooded Twitter. Check out some of these posts.

Apart from Hrithik Roshan praising the movie, netizens also expressed their wish to boycott Vikram Vedha on Twitter due to Saif Ali Khan being the second male protagonist in the movie. They alleged that Saif had said some controversial statements during the promotions of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior which allegedly hurt Hindu sentiments. Apart from this, users are also miffed with his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan’s earlier statement wherein she had addressed the audience and said, “Don’t go to watch our films then, nobody is forcing you” while commenting on the nepotism debate.

Well, it will be a thing to witness whether the boycott trend against Vikram Vedha will affect its fate like Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan. The movie is a Hindi remake of the 2017 Tamil film of the same name. The film will also star Radhika Apte in a pivotal role.
