Prithviraj's crime-drama 'Kappa' gets an official OTT release date

    The crime drama will finally be making its OTT debut soon.

    Kappa was Prithviraj's last movie of 2022 and despite mixed responses managed to gross around 20 crores at the box office.

    The movie will now be making its OTT debut on the streaming giant Netflix on January 19th. The movie had managed to hold to the number 2 spot at the Kerala box office with James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water taking the number one spot.

    Kappa marks the third collaboration between Prithviraj and noted action director Shaji Kailas, who made a comeback this year with the mass action movie Kaduva.

    Kaduva also starred Prithviraj in the lead and became the third highest-grossing Malayalam movie of 2022. Prithviraj has a great run at the box office in 2022, with movies like Jana Gana Mana and Kaduva, and now Kappa.

    The movie is a gritty crime drama set in Kerala's capital city of Trivandrum, the movie will focus on Kotta Madhu played by Prithviraj, and his rise to power from a small-time goon to a crime lord in Trivandrum's underworld.

    The movie is written by G R Indugopan, with Jomon T John handling the cinematography with Shameer Muhammed in charge of the editing.

    The movie has an ensemble cast that includes Prithviraj, Asif Ali, Aparna Balamurali, Anna Ben, Dileesh Pothan, and Jagadeesh.

    Currently, Prithviraj has four Malayalam movies that are coming out in 2023 which are Aadujeevitham, Khalifa, Vilayath Buddha, Double Mohanan, and Kaaliyan.

    He will also be appearing in the Telugu movie Salaar and the Hindi movie Bade Miyan Chote Miyan which will be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and he will be sharing the screen with Akshay Kumar, Janhvi Kapoor, and Tiger Shroff.

    Prithviraj has also confirmed that the sequel to Lucifer titled L2: Empuraan is currently in pre-production and they will soon announce when the movie starts production.

    Kappa will be streaming on Netflix on January 19th.
