    Just a few weeks after Samrat Prithviraj 's release, Akshay Kumar is back with another film, Raksha Bandhan . The actor unveiled the first look motion poster of the film announcing its release date. The much-awaited drama is set to clash with Aamir Khan ’s Laal Singh Chaddha on August 11.

    The Sooryavanshi actor posted a vibrant teaser with the caption that reads, “Bringing you all a story of the purest form of bond that will remind you of yours! Raksha Bandhan releasing in cinemas on August 11th, 2022. #ReturnToFeelings #RakshaBandhan11August. As soon as the teaser surfaced online, netizens flooded the comment section suggesting the actor take a break after noting his back-to-back film failures.

    While one user wrote, “Akki bhai ek short duration ka break le lo. Prithviraj karnama ka waqt abhi nehi gaya, aap doosre movie le ke aya. 5-6 months ka ek break toh lena chahiye tha.” (Akshay take short break, you brought new film despite Prithviraj disaster, atleast you must have taken 5-6 months of break). Another wrote, “ Suicide by yourself, Clashing With Laal Singh Chaddha after back to back disasters.”

    To note, Samrat Prithviraj turned out to be a second consecutive flop for Akshay after Bachchhan Paandey . The film managed to earn a meagre Rs 64.62 crore at the domestic box office against its massive reported budget of Rs 200 crore. Amid this, the announcement of Raksha Bandhan has sparked discussion among netizens to even call Akshay the disaster king. The upcoming film is directed by Aanand L Rai and marks the reunion of Akshay and Bhumi Pednekar after Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.

    On the other hand, Aamir Khan’s long-awaited Laal Singh Chaddha is directed by Advait Chandan of Secret Superstar fame. The film is an adaptation of the Hollywood film Forrest Gump . Apart from Aamir, the film also features Kareena Kapoor , Naga Chaitanya, and Mona Singh in the key roles.
