Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt wedding: Here are weird happenings around couple's wedding

The wedding of power couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor has been a unique affair as they opted for at-home-wedding ditching exotic locations unlike usual celebrity weddings. From simple white embellished outfits to celebrating the beautiful union with handful of guests, the couple definitely has changed the Bollywood wedding trends.

Interestingly, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, being animal lovers, had also cancelled their baraat ceremony as they did not wanted to use a horse. Complementing the couple on going horse-free on their big day, animal welfare NGO Animal Rahat named two inseparable horses ‘Ranbir and Alia’.

“Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor chose to keep their big day horse-free. A wedding is a perfect occasion for anyone to spare a thought for and show love to all our fellow sentient beings.” said Dr Naresh Upreti, chief operating officer, Anima Rahat. Both the white horses rescued by the NGO were inseparable. The mare who has been used for wedding ceremonies has been named Alia whereas the stallion who was confiscated from the Gateway of India in Mumbai has been named Ranbir.

Another interesting yet weird happening that caught attention was Ranbir and Alia’s wedding organised in Bengali style by fans in Kolkata. While lots of speculation regarding the couple’s wedding date and venues were doing rounds ahead of their wedding, photos of them getting married in traditional Bengali style went viral. In the photos, we can see life-sized mannequins of Ranbir and Alia dressed in traditional Bengali wedding attire getting married while a priest conducts the marriage rituals.

Earlier, some fans began an online petition, Change.org petition in which they urged couple to reveal details of their wedding. “While they both have publicly expressed their love for each other several times, they have been maintaining secrecy about the wedding. It has made us so disappointed. We wish to respect their privacy, but for the sake of the love of their fans, I would request them to reveal the details of festivities, outfits of each day to the paparazzi so that reaches their meillion of fans.It will give us so much joy and hope and happiness.” The petition was started by Prakshi Saha and titled, “please share your wedding updates with media and paps”

Meanwhile, Ranbir and Alia tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in presence of close friends and family at the former’s house Vastu in Mumbai on April 14.
