Movie lovers got a pleasant surprise earlier this week when Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced the cast of his next film Love & War. The epic saga stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the lead, making it a casting coup. This project marks Vicky’s first movie with the filmmaker whereas for Alia it is a reunion post the success of Gangubai Kathiawadi. For Ranbir and Sanjay, this is a long awaited chance to collaborate again after Saawariya. Things didn’t work out when the actor was offered Baiju Bawra earlier. But this time Ranbir loved the script and came on board. However, there were conditions applied.

This is because Ranbir collaborated with SLB for his debut film Saawariya and knows how the filmmaker works. In a report shared by Bollywood Hungama, a source in the know was quoted saying, “Ranbir Kapoor on the sets of Sawaariya was a boy and now, he is a superstar. He has put all the terms and conditions of working in the contract to ensure a civil shooting environment.” The actor has apparently asked the filmmaker to ‘stick to the timelines’ of the shoot which means the film will go on floors in November and will wrap up by July 2025 so Ranbir can focus on his other commitments.

The source further stated, “The other condition is to have fixed working hours. During Sawaariya, RK was subject to erratic work timing, and he doesn't want the episode to repeat again in 2024. The last condition is to ensure proper discipline on the set in all departments.” It was actually Ranbir’s wife and co-star Alia’s idea to bring them together for a chat so all their conditions would be put on the table and a mature discussion could take place.

Well, we can’t wait to witness Alia, Ranbir and Vicky’s epic saga when it arrives in theatres on Christmas next year.
