    Luv Ranjan ’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor has witnessed an impressive spike at the box office. After a strong opening, the romantic comedy showed a slight drop but it bounced back on Day 4. The film has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark in just four days of release. If this upward trend follows, it is likely that the film will close its opening week with an Rs 80 crore collection.

    According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the national chains have shown a steep rise in their collection on Day 4(Saturday). On the opening day, it earned Rs 7.85 crore, but on the following day, it dropped to Rs 5.10 crore owing to being a working day. Even on Friday, the collection remained static, and it jumped to Rs 8.70 crore on Saturday. The film had a decent opening of Rs 15.73 crore, later the two days collection was in the range of Rs 10 crore. On Day 4, it grossed Rs 16 crore, taking its total collection to Rs 52.59 crore.

    As per trade experts, the film is believed to continue its momentum on Sunday too. It is expected that the collection would turn around to Rs 17 crore on Day 5, crossing the Rs 65 crore mark easily. However, the actual tests will begin on Monday as the footfalls get affected by working days. Still, the hopes are high for the movie as the audience are liking the fresh chemistry of Ranbir and Shraddha on the big screen. Even the music of the film is giving it much-needed hype.

    Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar was released on March 8 on the occasion of Holi. The film marks Ranbir’s first collaboration with Pyaar Ka Punchnama director Luv Ranjan, and even with Shraddha Kapoor. The movie is also the last offering of Ranbir in the romantic comedy genre. Besides Ranbir, and Shraddha, the film also stars Dimple Kapadia, Boney Kapoor, and Anubhav Singh Bassi in key roles.
