Shah Rukh Khan's Pathan faces delays yet again amidst rising Omicron cases

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathan is due to arrive in cinemas this year. The movie has faced significant delays in coming together and is yet to wrap up production. An foreign schedule for the action extravaganza was to take place this month in Spain with Shah Rukh and Deepika and looks like it will have to be delayed –again.

The Spain schedule of Pathan was to take place in October 2021 but after Shah Rukh khan’s son Aryan Khan’s arrest it was put off. The dates of Shah Rukh and Deepika were locked for January but now the Omicron scare in the country is hampering the Pathan shoot according to a report in The Free Press Journal.

Deepika and Shah Rukh were to shot for a few songs in the country along with a few other sequences and three week schedule was reportedly planned. The actress, who has been on a New Year vacation these past few days with husband Ranveer Singh , was to apparently return to Mumbai, launch the trailer for her next Gehraiyaan and then take off with Shah Rukh to shoot in Spain.

The country with nearly 80% of fully vaccinated population has had a massive outbreak Omicron and has crossed the 1 lakh mark in daily case load. The environment is not conducive at all for shoot and now the makers are hoping to get dates of Deepika and SRK for February to reschedule the whole thing.

In the meantime, expectations of fans have been piling on throughout the pandemic about Pathan and hopefully will hear something about the project from makers soon. Shah Rukh Khan resumed work in late December and has apparently shot for a commercial and an online game show. The actor also has portions to shoot with Salman Khan who has a cameo in Pathan and his own cameo in the latter’s Tiger 3.
