Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 to cross the Rs 500 crore mark, will become the third film to do so after Pathaan and Baahubali 2

Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 is creating history and smashing all records at the box office and how! Amidst a success bash that was held yesterday (September 2) for the movie, it is all set to achieve a momentous benchmark. The film is all set to reach the Rs 500 crore mark today (September 3). Not only this but the patriotic period drama will become the third film to do so after Pathaan and Baahubali 2.

Talking about the same, Gadar 2 earned reportedly Rs 6 crore according to Sacnilk on its 23rd day. The movie’s total collections now stand at Rs 493.65 crore. The Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma starrer is just Rs 6.35 crore away from entering the historic Rs 500 crore benchmark. The Anil Sharma directorial had minted Rs 284.63 crore on its first weekend while it earned Rs 134.74 crore on its second weekend. On its third weekend, the film amassed Rs 63.35 crore.

Meanwhile, the success bash of Gadar 2 which was held in the city yesterday in a lavish manner saw all the biggies of the industry under one roof. Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Kartik Aaryan, Vicky Kaushal, Sara Ali Khan, Ananya Panday, Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Sidharth Malhotra and others attended the occasion. The legendary actor and proud father Dharmendra was also one of the attendees.

Gadar 2 had witnessed an opening of Rs 40.01 crore at the box office. It became the second-highest opener of 2023 after Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. The movie is a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha which also had the same cast. The plot of the sequel continues from the events that concluded in the first movie. The makers are rumored to been working on Gadar 3 as well after the mammoth success of the second part.
