Thalapathy Vijay's 'Varisu' makers eyeing Sivakarthikeyan for their next project

Sivakarthikeyan fans have a lot to be happy about in 2023, the rising star of Tamil cinema has three projects lined up for the new year.

And now it appears that the makers of Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu are eyeing the actor for their next big project in Tamil.

The yet-to-be-titled project will be directed by noted Telugu director Harish Shankar, known for movies like 'Gabbar Singh', and 'Duvvada Jagannadham'. His last movie was the 2019 movie 'Gaddalakonda Ganesh', which was a remake of the hit Tamil movie Jigarthanda.

Currently, the director is busy with his next project Ustaad Bhagat Singh which stars Pawan Kalyan and is a remake of the 2016 Vijay movie 'Theri'.

Sivakarthikeyan is currently on the set of director Madonne Ashwin's 'Maaveeran'. The movie is an action thriller and the actor will be playing the role of a cartoon artist.

The movie will also be the first on-screen pairing of Sivakarthikeyan and actress Aditi Shankar. The actor's next big release is the science fiction comedy movie 'Ayalaan' in which he will star opposite Rakul Preet Singh.

'Ayalaan' is directed by R. Ravikumar, with music being composed by the legendary A.R Rahman, the movie is currently in post-production and is expected to hit theaters in 2023.

Sivakarthikeyan has also signed on for a movie with director Rajkumar Periyasamy, which will go into production as soon as the actor is done with his work on the post-production of Ayalaan.

Meanwhile, the makers of 'Varisu' are currently promoting the movie which will be hitting the big screen this Pongal and will be facing stiff competition both at the Tamil and Telugu box office.

Varisu is a family entertainer similar to the actor's movies from the 90s. It is directed by Vamshi Paidipally, who will be collaborating with Vijay and the film also marks his Tamil debut.

Varisu will hit theaters worldwide on January 12th, 2023.
