Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar box office Day 2: After strong opening, Ranbir Kapoor & Shraddha Kapoor's rom com sees a drop

Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar had an impressive opening of Rs 15.73 crore at the box office. The audience turned up in large numbers to enjoy the refreshing romantic comedy directed by Luv Ranjan on the day of release, i.e March 8. However, the excitement seems to go down on the next day as the collection suffered a 36 percent decline as per early estimates.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the national chains collected Rs 4.70 crore updated till 9.45 pm on Thursday. This is much less than its first-day collection of Rs 7.85 crore at the national chains. As per reports of Sacnilk, the movie earned 10.00 crore on its second day, taking its total collection to Rs 25.73 crore so far. The collection may see an upward trend in collections in the upcoming Saturday and Sunday as per trade experts.

The movie has received positive reviews from both critics as well as the audience. For the first time, Ranbir has shared screen space with Shraddha and their chemistry got big thumbs up. The film also marks Ranbir’s first collaboration with Luv Ranjan, and it is going to be his last outing in the romantic comedy genre as he earlier mentioned.

Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is a mix of a modern love story and family drama which makes it a perfect family entertainer. Besides Ranbir and Shraddha, the film boasts of a talented supporting cast including Dimple Kapadia, Boney Kapoor, and Anubhav Singh Bassi. Much to fans' delight, Kartik Aaryan, and Nushrratt Bharuchha have made special appearances in the movie. Backed by Luv Films Productions and T-series, the film is likely to have a good and long run at the box office.
