    On Wednesday, the makers dropped the much-awaited trailer of UT 69, the biopic which marks Raj’s acting debut and traces his difficult journey in Arthur jail.

    Actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra was subjected to trolls and humiliation after he was accused in a pornographic films case. The businessman spent about two months in jail regarding the case. He has been covering his face behind a mask ever since he was granted bail in the case. Well, the actor finally decided to remove it in front of the media at the recently released trailer of his upcoming biopic UT 69.

    On Wednesday, the makers dropped the much-awaited trailer of UT 69, the biopic which marks Raj’s acting debut and traces his difficult journey in Arthur jail. About two-minutes-long trailer opens with a news bulletin that reads about Raj getting arrested in porn case. Then follows the entry of Raj, who stands outside the jail and wonders, “Is jail k baare me TV me dekha tha, lekin kabhi socha nahi tha ki main yaha khud ek under trial banke aaunga.” The prisoners around him begin to recognize him and talk about his wife Shilpa Shetty. While Raj gets used to tough jail set up and complex dynamics, he also struggles with a lawyer for bail. The trailer ends on a heartbreaking note as Raj loses patience and breaks down.

    Directed by Shahnawaz Ali, UT 69 is based on the true story which is penned by Raj Kundra himself, The film is produced by SVS Studio in collaboration with The Bigger Picture Films. At the trailer launch, Raj revealed the reaction of Shilpa Shetty to his acting debut with UT 69. “I told her that I have a script and was waiting for her answer. When I turned away from her, a flying chappal came at my face. I think she thought that the idea was a little dicey at first. Maybe she thought that the film wouldn’t get made,” he told News18. The film is set to release in theatres on November 3, 2023.
