Veteran Kollywood actor Mayilsamy passes away at 57; Kamal Haasan, Vikram, and others pay their tributes

    Tamil actor Mayilsamy known for his roles in movies like 2.0 and Veeram passed away at the age of 57 due to a heart attack.

    Mayilsamy began his acting career in 1984 and has worked with actors like Kamal Haasan , Rajinikanth, Vikram, and Vijay.

    The actor's first prominent role was in the 1991 horror film Rasathi Varum Naal, in which he co-starred with Nizhalgal Ravi and Kasthuri.

    Since then the actor has appeared in supporting roles in over 100 movies with his final big-screen appearance in the 2022 movie Udanpaal.

    Many actors like Kamal Haasan, Sarath Kumar, and Vikram mourned the loss of the actor and paid touching tributes via social media.

    Mayilsamy is known for his roles in movies like Dhool, Vaseegara, Ghilli, Giri, Uthamaputhiran, Veeram, and Kanchana. He won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Comedian for his role in the 2004 movie Kangalal Kaidhu Sei.

    The actor is also known for his TV roles especially as the host of the hit show Asathapovathu Yaaru on Sun TV. He is survived by his wife and son.
