VFX overhaul worth Rs.100 crores on cards for Prabhas' Adipurush after trolling, film to be delayed yet again?

Om Raut directed Adipurush has been one of the most anticipated films on the list of fans since it was announced. But the reaction the first teaser of the Prabhas starrer isn’t what the makers of the movie might have anticipated. The first promo of the film which was released on Dusshera in October ended up in a mega meme fest on social media for the animated looking visual effects and now it looks like the makers are consider redoing certain portions of the film.

Adipurush which is based on the Ramayan and is in a tricky position already having lost the interest of a section of fans after it’s teaser release and according a post by Let’s Cinemas the makers are under pressure to do re-work the VFX of the film. The project relies heavily on the visual effects and it has been suggested that the fixing up the project might cost the makers an additional Rs. 100 crores.

The Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer might not be able to arrive in cinemas by January 2023 because of this reason and might be delayed once again. The mega budget project which is currently touted to have been produced at an expense of Rs. 400 crores has already been delayed once from the August 2022 deadline which was originally planned.

After the release of Adipurush teaser, filmmaker Om Raut had defended the project against rampant criticism saying the movie is meant to be experienced on the big screen and mobile phones. Reports had also suggested that Prabhas, who is leading the project, is unhappy with how the teaser turned out. However, such speculations were quickly snubbed as the mega star enthusiastically took part in initial promotional events. It is worth noting that Adipurush’s delay has not yet been confirmed the makers.
