    Ever since the teaser and trailer of Liger starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday was released, expectations were high believing that film would be a blockbuster hit. After its release on August 25, the actioner turned out to be a huge disappointment. Though it registered Rs 33 crore on its opening day, the subsequent earnings have been poor. The film collected Rs 7.5 crore on its third day of release i.e on Saturday.

It saw a slight drop to collect around 27 crore on the second day. With negative reviews pouring in, the film witnessed a downward trend and struggles big time at the ticket window. In the Hindi belt, the total collection stands at Rs 10.25 crore as per the latest reports. It is expected that the Hindi version of Liger will do a lifetime business of around Rs 25 crore.

    As per trade experts, Liger’s weekend collection will topple down with an India-Pakistan match lineup on Sunday. It is being reported that the film is doing fairly good business in UP, Bihar, and some other mass belts, but the footfall in multiplexes is low. Meanwhile, Liger would be t would be the third consecutive disaster for Deverakonda in the Telugu market after Dear Comrade and World Famous Lover.

    Written and directed by Puri Jagannadh, the film marks Vijay Deverakonda's Bollywood debut and Ananya Panday's Telugu debut. The action drama also stars Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Makarand Deshpande, Ali, and boxing legend Mike Tyson in crucial roles. Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions in association with Puri Connects, the film faced many delays due to the pandemic.
