Half Girlfriend continues to rule BO, Hindi Medium shows major growth

After a great opening at the ticket windows on Friday, Arjun Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Half Girlfriend slowed down on the second day of its release and collected Rs 10.63 crore, a 3.5% rise in the collections. Mohit Suri’s Half Girlfriend earned Rs 20.90 crore in two days.

Saket Choudhary’s Hindi Medium, on the other hand, saw a jump 51% on Saturday at the box office and collected Rs 7.06 crore in two days. The Irrfan Khan-starrer had a slow first day with an opening collection of Rs 2.81 crore.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#HalfGirlfriend Fri 10.27 cr, Sat 10.63 cr. Total: ₹ 20.90 cr. India biz. Growth on Sat: 3.51%. #HindiMedium Fri 2.81 cr, Sat 4.25 cr. Total: ₹ 7.06 cr. India biz. Growth on Sat: 51.25%... EXCELLENT GROWTH!”

Starring Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles, Half Girlfriend is an onscreen adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller by the same name.

Hindi Medium, on the other hand, showcases the class struggles of a Hindi-speaking man struggling to find an English medium school for his daughter. It stars Irrfan Khan and Pakistani actor Saba Qamar in lead roles.
