    Sanjay Dutt prefers to surrender rather than seeking pardon

    Actor Sanjay Dutt, who has been found guilty under the Arms Act in relation to the 1993 Mumbai blast case, announced that he would surely surrender when the appropriate time comes and would not be seeking pardon in any way. Sanjay spoke out for the first time in public since the Supreme Court verdict last week and appealed to the media for privacy, "...When I am not going for pardon, there is no debate." An emotional Sanjay, broke down saying, "This a very, very tough time.” He also said he would be completing his work commitments.

    Dutt, who was accompanied at the press conference by his sister and Congress MP Priya Dutt, has four weeks starting from March 21 to surrender. Sources confirmed that Dutt will be back on the sets to shoot forPolicegiri. He is also supposed to finish dubbing his part this week forZanjeerstarring Priyanka Chopra and Ram Charan Teja. But the days ahead will be hectic for the bereaved actor as he has to shoot forUngli, starring Randeep Hooda and Neha Dhupia and most probably for Rajkumar Hirani’sP.K.too, for a day or two.

    The teary-eyed actor continued at the press conference, "I have the highest respect for Supreme Court's terms and conditions put on me. I want to thank whoever supported us during the ordeal." He went on saying, "I have a lot of work left to be finished. I have to spend time with my family. Please let me be in peace till the time I surrender. I love my country and its citizens. I love India."
