Johnny Depp to star in Transcendence, Black Mass

Johnny Depp is all set to act under the direction of Oscar-winner Wally Pfister, the cinematographer ofInceptionandDark Knightwho is making his directorial debut withTranscendence.

It seems that the makers are not keen in revealing theTranscendence’s plot but the rumours say that Depp will be playing the role of a scientist who is working on a programming code for the world’s first completely self-aware computer. The filming will go on the floors in April. The flick is produced by Alcon Entertainment’s Broderick Johnson, Andrew Kosove, Straight Up Films’ Annie Marter, Marisa Polvino, Kate Cohen and David Valdes, while Warner Bros will be releasing the film.

The star will be seen segueing into Barry Levinson’sBlack Massafterwards, which is a crime thriller. The story of the movie is inspired by the New York Times best-seller Black Mass. Depp will also be seen in Disney’s big screen version ofThe Lone Rangerdirected by Gore Verbinski.
