Michelle Maclaren who is well known for her work on Games of Thrones and Breaking Bad, has dropped out of directing Wonder Woman. “Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together,” the studio said in a statement. The details of the separation are still not known, but both parties have cited ‘creative differences’ as the main reason behind the split.

Michelle MacLaren was hired in November to direct the movie, which stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. The 50-year-old director was set to make her directional debut in Hollywood with Wonder Woman. MacLaren made a name for herself after directing several episodes of hit T.V. shows such as Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and most recently, Better Call Saul, which is a spin-off of Breaking Bad.

This comes as a huge blow for the production of the movie, which is set for release in 2017. Wonder Woman has had a poor development history on the big screen. The previous attempt to bring the big screen adaption of the DC Comics character floundered in 2007 despite the screenplay being done by Joss Whedon.
