    Patriots Day Ropes In John Goodman

    The Big Lebowski actor John Goodman has been roped in for the upcoming film Patriots Day. He will be joining Mark Wahlberg and J.K. Simmons in the film which will be directed by Peter Berg. The announcement has been made by CBS and Lionsgate.

    Patriots Day will focus on the events that took place during the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing. It has been reported that John will be playing the role of Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis. Mark will essay the role of a Boston Police Department officer who is quite pivotal in the investigation. Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons will portray Sergeant Jeffrey Pugliese of the Watertown Police Department.

    Talking about Goodman's character, Peter stated, "Commissioner Davis is an American hero and John Goodman brings the extraordinary combination of humility, gravitas and empathy to portray him". Patriots Day will be produced by Mark, Scott Stuber, Hutch Parker, Dylan Clark, Stephen Levinson and Michael Radutzky. The movie will be released on January 13 next year.
