About five years ago, Karan Johar released the poster of his next film Student of the Year. The popular director, whose every film had Shah Rukh Khan till that point (along with other established actors), announced that wouldn’t be the case with this film. Instead, his new project would have three fresh faces: Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan.

The film went on to become a commercial success and all three leads received praise for their individual talent. And it was clear that Bollywood has got three actors around which they can build its future around.

Fast forward to right now and that prophecy has turned out to be true, with all three actors enjoying a pretty good start to their acting career. While Sidharth Malhotra has seen a lot of highs along with a few lows, Alia Bhatt has consistently received appreciation for her performances, due to which she has become one of the most sought-after actresses in the industry. But, in this industry where commercial returns are now more valuable than ever, it is Varun Dhawan who has made the most impact. 

With the release of his latest film Badrinath Ki Dulhania (along with Alia Bhatt), he is set to register an eighth consecutive success in the industry. And that feat, accomplished in today's ever-changing industry, is nothing close to remarkable. To put that into perspective, there is no contemporary actor who is having a better run than the actor besides Salman Khan. Even Alia Bhatt, who has had a pretty much flawless career like Dhawan, starred in Shaandar, which was both a commercial and critical failure.
