Half of the Bollywood films garner popularity because of its catchy and sassy dialogues. In fact, the popularity of a lot of films can be attributed to the well-written dialogues and the style with which they are delivered. While some actors memorize and deliver pages after pages of dialogues, there are some who managed to create an impression even when they just had one dialogue in the film in several scenes. Here are 5 characters who created an impact with just one recurring dialogue in the films.
Vaani in Judaai
As Paresh Rawal’s daughter married to Johny Lever, Upasaana Singh as Vaani just had one dialogue in the film, ‘Abba Dabba Jabba’ which she repeats throughout the film. Going up against comic actors such as Paresh Rawal and Johnny Lever, she managed to leave a lasting impression on the audience, that too with just one dialogue.
Samba in Sholay
This might be the most iconic character that had one dialogue in the film. All Samba had to say in Sholay was ’50 Hajar Sarkar’ whenever Gabbar asks about the government bounty on his head. Just like everything else about the movie, Samba and his one dialogue has also become iconic in its own right and is still remembered and repeated.
Shyam Lal in Dabanng
As the personal photographer of Bhaiyyaji, Sonu Sood, his mission in life is to capture all the important events of Bhaiyyaji’s life. He just has two words to say ‘Bhaiyyaji Smile’ in several scenes but manages to extract good laughter. In fact, the actor is one of the most remembered faces from the super hit Dabangg just due to this one dialogue.

Javed Jaffery’s Wife in Salaam Namaste
An extremely underrated comic performance in Bollywood is probably Javed Jaffery in Salaam Namaste. As a desi turned self styled Australian hick who hates Indians, he keeps mumbling theories about Indians in incoherent English. However, after every dig he takes at Indians, his Australlian hottie wife just says ‘Sorry’ with utter confusion and lack of interest. Even though it was a small recurring joke in the film, it has been the inspiration behind many jokes, memes, and wisecracks.
Daadi in Dolly Ki Doli
Although the con film starring Sonam Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Pulkit Samrat Dolly Ki Doli could not do very well at the box office, there was one character who generated lots of laugh. Everytime a prospective groom they were planning to rob posing as a family came to get married to Dolly, the Daadi just had one line ‘Beti De Di, Sab De Diya’ which impresses the boy’s side every time. However, the funniest bit is when the police takes her for ng questioning and inquiring about the rest of the imposters, she keeps chanting the same line.
