Bhumi Pednekar won't share screen with Shahid Kapoor, declines role in Ali Abbas Zafar's next?

It is now a known fact to everyone keeping a close tab on Bollywood that Shahid Kapor and Ali Abbas Zafar are all set to collaborate. In fact, the project will be a Netflix original and will release on the streaming platform directly. Reports had also been doing the rounds that Bhumi Pednekar had been approached to play the female lead opposite Shahid Kapoor. But that's not going to happen.

If a report in Bollywood Hungama is to be believed, then Bhumi Pednekar was indeed approached, but she declined the offer. A source was quoted saying, "Bhumi was approached for the role. The makers felt she will fit the bill as Shahid's wife and although the film primarily traces one day in Shahid's life, Bhumi's role is extremely important and pivotal. The makers had offered the film to Bhumi a few weeks ago."

But why did Bhumi opt out of the project? The same source revealed, "Bhumi feels there is meat lacking in her part and that's why she decided to say no to it. After her rejection, the makers are now on the hunt for another heroine to play the lead opposite Shahid."

The project would revolve around one night where the father would go out and make ends meet to save his kidnapped daughter from the mafia. We wonder who would play the role opposite Shahid Kapoor! The project would apprently be a remake of Nuit Blance.
