Deepika Padukone's Next Superhero Film With Fox Star : We Know Which One It Is

After the massive success of Padmaavat, the entire nation was probably waiting for her to announce her next film. We really cannot go too long without Deepika, the reigning queen of Bollywood staying away from the screen. Thus, now with the news of Deepika signing a new film filtering in WE ARE EXCITED! But the news that has literally blown us over is the fact that the film she has signed is going to a massive superhero film.

Yes, you read that right! Deepika will be seen kicking some serious asses as the Indian female superhero. Did you just get goosebumps? So did we.

While the most obvious prediction would be that her character would be something akin to Wonder Woman played by Gal Gadot, we do not think that is what it is.

If reports are to be believed then superhero she is going to play is going to be desi. We also know that the production company behind the film would be FOX. Taking a look at the Indian superheroes whose rights are owned by FOX we think Deepika’s character would be modeled after Omega Sentinel (real name Karima Shapandar) who is associated with X-Men and its spin-off Excalibur.

The character first appeared in X-Men Unlimited, Vol.1 No. 27 and was created by Chris Claremont and Bret Booth.

Her character is that of a police named Karima Shapandar was a police officer from India who was transformed into an Omega Prime Sentinel by Bastion of the Operation: Zero Tolerance program. There is also a slight romantic track of her character with another fictional character Neel Shaara, which would totally be a killer and Bollywood friendly aspect of this character.

If this does not convince you, think about the upcoming X-Men movie, Dark Phoenix. This film will have a sequence in the island of Genosha where Magneto keeps the mutants who do not want to live with the world. And in the comic book, Genosha is the same island where Omega Sentinel is seen the last time. Not to mention the fact that the makers of X-Men have announced that they want to focus on women superheroes more in the coming time. Co-incidence much? 

Although, we are not sure that this is what she has signed, but it surely seems to be a bright possibility! And if we are right then it will be so cool to Deepika in this fiery avatar.
