Diljit Dosanjh to turn into 'Detective Shergil' in Ali Abbas Zafar's next production?

Diljit Dosanjh and Ali Abbas Zafar's collaboration has been in the pipeline for a long time, The duo was said to be collaborating for an intense drama set against the backdrop of the 1984 Sikh Riots. Reports also suggested that the project has been shot and is in post-production, looking forward to release directly on Netflix. Now, looks like the duo would collaborate once again.

According to a report in Peepingmoon, Diljit would be a part of Ali Abbas Zafar's next production. The film will be titled Detective Shergill, and the Punjabi actor will play the titular role of a bumbling investigator. The film would be a crime comedy and would also feature Sumeet Vyas, Boman Irani, and Banita Sandhu in leading roles. The report further mentions that the film has gone on floors in Budapest and would be wrapped up in a month! A source was quoted saying, "Detective Sherdil is the story of a newbie, amateur detective played by Diljit Dosanjh. It's a comedy-of-error set in the backdrop of crime investigation. While Ali Abbas Zafar's film on Sikh riots sees Dosanjh playing the role of a serious dramatic actor, this film brings him back to his comfortable space of comedy. October actress Banita Sandhu has been paired opposite him while the characters of Boman Irani and Sumeet Vyas are not known yet."
