Shahid Kapoor Roped In For Sujoy Ghosh’s Next; Actor Will Wrap It Before Moving On To Karna

It’s been two years since Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani’s Kabir Singh released on the big screen. But the actor’s phenomenal performance as an alcoholic surgeon is still fresh in our minds. Audiences are now eagerly waiting to be blown away with his upcoming film Jersey, which is scheduled to release this year on Diwali. Also starring Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur, the sports drama will feature Shahid as a cricketer. Well according to latest reports, the actor has now signed his next project with filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh.

A report shared by Pinkvilla has revealed that the two were in talks for a long time. The script has impressed Shahid and shoot will begin soon. A source was quoted saying, “Shahid and Sujoy have been speaking about a potential collaboration for a while now and things seem to have fallen in place. Shahid has liked a script and if all goes as planned, the film will go on floors this year itself.” The rest of the details have been kept under wraps for now.

The source went on to share that the actor has been flooded with multiple offers and is being careful about the scripts he associates himself with. “While the actor wants to do commercial stuff, he is careful that it doesn’t belong to the run-of-the-mill world. After wrapping up the Sujoy Ghosh film, he is expected to move onto the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directed, Karna, which is an epic produced by Ronnie Screwvala.”
